With more than 20 years' experience in
telecommunications and software design, David is the
driving force behind Billing Bureau's technical
innovations and vision. As the company's founder, he has
played a crucial role in identifying new market
opportunities and building the company through
innovative technology design. David's blog about the
industry can be found at
www.quack.net.au.
David completed a B.Sc. at Monash University (back
in the days when Monash meant Clayton), majoring in
Computer Science and Mathematics. He worked as a
programmer, and then a quantitative analyst for McIntosh
Securities (now Merrill Lynch) before establishing a
software development company called ObjectiveWare, now
known as Billing Bureau.
Billing Bureau developed its first billing system
in 1994, with only 2.5 employees, including David as
principal architect and developer. These days however
Billing Bureau has grown to 31 employees and 35
customers.
For the past 4 years, David has occupied a Business
Development role within the company, focusing on new
products and markets. Despite this shift, David still
sometimes lies awake at night and thinks about billing.
David is also a Director and Shareholder of
Telecoms Buying Group, an aggregator of wholesale mobile
airtime, Kiss Mobile and VNO Solutions Pty Ltd.
In his spare time, David is a professional voice
talent, plays cricket, supports the mighty Richmond
Tigers and is on the board of a local not-for-profit
organisation.
